A good day for D&D.
Hurray, BOTH of Gino’s presents got here today: his Dungeon Master Screen and his battle mat. Hes excited, well… as excited as he can be at 1am after working all day. I got them as a nice lil anniversary present for him. He got me S. Darko, the new Donnie Darko movie. I’m exicted about it and can’t wait to watch it when we get the chance.
Still job hunting. Hopefully I can find a good job soon, that would be nice.
Working on saving all my amazon Mechanical Turk money and the gift cards I get from swagbucks to get Gino Suikoden 2. So far I have about $40, but the game and shipping costs about 120. I’m a third of the way there, woohoo! Maybe I can get Gino to use swagbucks more, then I could earn more points AND we could use his gift certificates to Amazon as well. *purrs* Yes… yes that will work perfectly. I know hes wanted this game FOREVER (well, since it got stolen about 5 years ago) and hes been searching for another copy since. I want to get this for him. Hes such a sweet loving man, and deserves so much more than I could ever give him. Suikoden II should help close that gap though
Know when to throw in the towel and ask for help.
When people hear the word lawyer, the most savory of images is not conjured up. While its fun to make jokes every so often, lawyers are actually a crucial tool you really have to use if you want the best chance of winning your case. A small quibble over a hundred dollars in property may not call for their services, but for a divorce, its completely vital. There’s so many loopholes with alimony, child support (if it applies), debt, property etc… that you really need a lawyer who knows all the laws and rules to help you get a settlement you can live with. Without the aid of lawyers, my parents would have been caught in a long, drawn out court battle instead of a civil out of court divorce contract. There’s plenty of places that you can find a lawyer in your area (like http://www.vancouverlaw.net) and I HIGHLY recommend them if you are getting a divorce!
Woohoo stuff ordered!
I finally got enough gift cards and Amazon Mechanical Turk money to order both D&D items Gino needed. I am excited and so is he, mainly because they are for him.
Today is Jasmine’s second birthday! Shes getting so big now, and I mean fat. After she got fixed she ballooned up, but shes finally started to slim down and be active again. Shes even started to get used to Gwendolyn and Pinochet to a point. She still harasses them, but I think its more for her own amusement and less out of spite.
So I stumbled across http://www.vocaboly.com and I think its nifty that theres software out there that helps people expand on their vocabulary with a vocabulary builder. Lately I am shocked that teenagers can barely form a sentence without leet-speak. Occassionally yes I will jokingly use it, but the fact that some people can’t form a complete sentence is both tragic and infuriating.
Anyway, Gino and I celebrate our three year dating anniversary tomorrow by playing D&D. No telling, but I think I am going to try and hardcore clean the house while hes working tomorrow as a special little surprise.
Going on a diet soon…
I really need to start dieting soon. I don’t really eat healthy at all nor do I exercise much… this needs to change. I want to get and stay healthy, which is going to be hard because I love eating candy… lots of it. I am thinking maybe a natural substitute without all kinds of preservatives will be nice, so I found this site: http://www.healthyfellow.com that might help out with that. Cross your fingers and lets see if I can drop a few… eighty pounds!
Otherwise I am really in a good mood at the moment. I dropped off my application to Hobby Lobby, but they aren’t hiring. I came home and filled out an application for a part-time job at a bank here, and guess what? THEY CALLED. They called about two hours after I submitted the application, which was NICE. I have an interview at 10am tomorrow. I really want this job. Its part time, so I can still have time to take care of the house and such AND since banks are closed on Sundays AND are closed by 5 or 7, I will still have time to play D&D and enjoy my anime! Woohoo.
And to those wondering, YES Illindir is still very active, but a lot of the staffers are busy busy busy at the moment, but we are working on stuff…. IMPORTANT STUFFS!
Gino is sleeping… poor thing, hes so exhausted.
So close to the D&D swagness!
So I have been using swag bucks and Amazon Mechanical Turk to try and earn a little extra money to get Gino the D&D stuff he needs like a battle mat and a dungeon master screen. I have $15 in amazon gift cards still pending on swagbucks and $33 in Amazon Mechanical Turk, so once both clear I’ll have enough money to get him both! Hopefully I can have that done before next Sunday. Thats when we play next.
If you aren’t a part of either of these sites, both of them are pretty amazing. Essentially, swagbucks is a search engine like google or yahoo. The main difference is when you search through swagbucks, you have a chance of earning various values of “swagbucks.” These can then be traded in for REAL prizes, such as Amazon Gift cards to get whatever you want. They also have all sorts of other things in their swag store too, including Wii, PS3 and 360. Lots and Lots of nifty stuff. Heres the link to check it out and sign up: http://swagbucks.com/?cmd=sb-register&rb=431417
Amazon Mechanical Turk is a little different. You do little jobs called “hits” for money. Some are just simple 30 second tasks you only get a few cents for, while others can give you upwards of 5 dollars per hit. They have ALL kinds of tasks, from writting reviews, picking out images, labeling things, and essentially anything else that needs the human touch to complete versus computer generated. I’ve been working on it for about a month maybe and already have 33 bucks. Heres the link to that: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/welcome
If I hadn’t gotten sick today I would be out applying for work, but I caught something and its left me couch-ridden. I am going tomorrow for sure though, I’ll just tough it out. I’ll probably check monster.com and craigslist again in a little bit.
P.S. – Got my grades and I passed all my classes, now I just have to wait for the official degree in the mail, but I am now a college graduate!
Amazon Mechanical Turk is made of win!
So I’ve not only been using swagbucks to earn amazon gift certificates, but also using Amazon Mechanical Turk to earn cash. Whats it all going for? To buy my husband more Dungeons and Dragons things <3. He needs a Dungeon Master Screen and a Battle matt. Also, there are more things on amazon that I need, like the Star Trek cookbook. So call me a nerd, I still want to learn to cook Klingon blood pie!
So in looking through the hits on Amazon Mechanical Turk, I came across this link: http://www.natmedtalk.com Its acctually I really nify site. Its all about natural medical remedies, which I think is really kinda cool. If I don’t HAVE to take traditional medicine, I don’t, but I wouldn’t mind finding a natural way to take the edge of a headache or settle my stomach. Always something nice.
So I am still in search of a job. I am REALY hoping to get the job at Hobby Lobby. Hopefully I can turn in the application today and then hope and pray. I really think I would be good at that job. I like working in retail, the store is FILLED with amazing things, and working with all the crafting things I have, I know how to use a lot of the items in the store. I really would LOVE that job.
Edumacation: Learned me a book!
Woohoo! I walked at my graduation today! Took five years to get my double major in Theatre/English, but I managed it. I’ll get my final grades next Wednesday I believe and then I will be sure I’ll get the degree, but I am 99.99% positive I passed all my classes, since I got A’s and B’s in all the classes that acctually counted towards my degree. They had the ceremony today (ya, dumb I know since no one has their final grades yet) and I am so jazzed about it! Woohoo!
And THANK YOU GINO for always being supportive of me, driving me to school (even on the early days) and making sure I finished school. I couldn’t (or wouldn’t) have done it without you! I love you (and not just saving me from the spider that kept crawling on me).
