Puppy Rescue!

July 5, 2009 at 1:50 am (cats, dogs, moving)

I rescued a little lost dog today, a Papillon named Mario to be exact. When I got home from my mom’s today I noticed a little black and white dog bounding for my car. I opened the door and yelled “Here puppy puppy.” as I got out, and the dog jumped right in my car and was ready for a ride. I scooped up the little thing and called the number on his collar, only to have it go to voicemail. I was dismayed. I couldn’t leave the poor thing outside alone, but I don’t think my cats would be pleased if I brought him in either. I snagged Jasmines leash and hooked him up so he wouldn’t get away from me and called my hubby (who couldn’t answer at the time) and my mom to see what I should do. About ten minutes passed and I got a call from the ower: she was over an hour away visiting family for the weekend. She said she would come get him as soon as she could but would give her friends a call and see if they were in town. I scooped up the little dog and headed in to grab him a dish a water.

I was nervous that the dog would start barking when he saw my cats, or my cats would have a fit, but surprisingly, neither happened. The dog just looked at them with a smile and kept panting. Jasmine acctually followed me around and wanted to see him. I put some water in a dish and brought him outside to walk again. A call came in a few minutes later from the owner, her friends were in town and were on the way to get lil Mario. Sadly, my new black and white friend had to go home and my cats couldn’t spend more time with him. When I got back in after sending Mario on his way home, Jasmine was all over me, meowing, wanting to know what happened to her new puppy friend. Shes so strange. She doesn’t like other cats, but somehow Papillons are ok. This only strengthens my case for when we get our own house, we should get a Papillon.

Calidrin has four sisters still available, you know. I could bring you one!! Clearly it’s for Jasmine, who desperately misses having a dog around. *nodnod*
